Background
A few months ago, I struggled to book a haircut with my regular barber, needing three attempts just to get through. During my visit, my barber paused mid-haircut to answer a call and schedule another appointment. That’s when it struck me: the same issue probably caused my earlier missed calls.
I realized there had to be a better way to book appointments without interrupting a barber’s workflow. This led me to the idea of creating an app that simplifies the booking process for clients and helps barbers manage their schedules seamlessly.
Problem statement
Traditional grooming experiences often faced challenges such as inconvenient booking systems, limited barber information and a lack of personalized services. Users struggled to find suitable barbers, while barbers faced difficulties in efficiently managing appointments and expanding their business.
Hypothesis
A tool that optimizing the booking process, and encourage positive interactions between clients and barbers, addressing these concerns is crucial for enhancing customer convenience and experience.
Why ?
The application will provide real-time information on barber availability, allowing clients to choose suitable time slots based on their schedule. In many cases people want to book an appointment ahead of time which could be possible within the application as they can select the desire day and time of their regular salon.
Business opportunity
Not only is this valuable for people who are looking for new salon or barber, but it also opens up new opportunities for salon owners as they can use this application to grow there business.
Research
I interviewed 5 Individuals and my stylist.
Some of the questions I asked:
Users/Customers
Grooming habits and preferences.
Experiences with traditional grooming services.
Challenges in finding and booking barbers.
Expectations from a grooming application.
Stylist/Barber
Challenges faced in managing appointments and attracting clients.
Experience with current grooming apps.
Preferred features for an app catering to barbers.
Technology adoption and learning curve.
For this project, there will be different interfaces for clients and salon owners. I will be focusing on creating the user interface.

Design
Stylist is a fresh, innovative app that makes it easier than ever to connect with skilled barbers.
My main goal while designing it was to create a user-friendly interface with a welcoming home screen, where users can easily find services, special offers, and locate different barbershops all in one place right at their convenience.
Each salon provides essential information, including the portfolio of their specialists and customer reviews, aiding potential clients in making informed decisions.
The filtering options streamline the process, enabling users to check both the salon's and stylist's schedules.
This intuitive system makes scheduling appointments a seamless and convenient experience for users.
Manage appointments
After booking, users can access the "Booking" tab to review upcoming and past appointments.
The reminder feature can be activated to receive notifications for upcoming appointments.
Users also have the option to view and rebook any canceled or past sessions effortlessly.
Location finder
Utilize search and filter options for easy salon exploration.
Make decisions smoother with a combined focus on distance and positive recommendations.
Outcome
Since this is the personal project, this design needs to be test with customers to understand the user adoption and iterate further on the design.
